Glimpses in Time are Performance
Art Events which integrate live music, slide images of period paintings and
sculpture projected on large screens, and narration. The narration includes description, period writings, and
commentary on history and aesthetics. Glimpses in Time is an original
concept created by Peter Tourin for Ensemble Soleil, Artists-in-Residence at
Colby-Sawyer College, New London, New Hampshire. The script for this performance was created by Jean Twombly. Copyright by Ensemble Soleil 1997. All rights reserved
This program was also performed at St.
Michael's College in January 23, 2000.
Performers included Directors Peter Tourin, viola da gamba, Jean
Twombly, Baroque violin, Baroque Dancer, Maris Wolff, Viola da gambist Joelle
Morton, Violinist Guiomar Turgeon and Harpsichordist Margaret Angelini. Narrations were in French and English and
written by Dr. Donald Beecher.
